Pedestrian Lane

On my way to highway seno in Mandaue where I used to pass to fetch and send-off my sister to work, there are 3 lanes: leftmost lane is way to A.S. fortuna street, middle lane to Lapu2x and the rightmost lane to mandaue. I've noticed when the left-signal turns green the way to A.S. fortuna people start crossing in the middle and check if there are vehicles or not and try to cross even the signal is green. Some people just cross in the middle and wait until the light turns red before it crosses. Some people are in the hurry and try to cross especially the moving vehicle is not that fast. What's worst is that other people force to cross even the moving vehicle is close to them and causes the vehicle to stop while waiting all the people have cross the lane which I think is not right for the reason its still a green signal.

Today instead of letting them cross as what other vehicle does when its on a green signal, I didn't let them cross by beeping my horn. One woman seems to complain, I open my window and told her next time to look at the signal. This incident reminds me on Erik's blog when people are in the rush to fall in line in the airport even its not yet their turn. That woman may think I was harsh, sorry I'm not. I just want to make a point to them that it is not right to cross the pedestrian when the traffic signal is green to avoid accidents and car bump when sudden brake is applied which may result to traffic.

Six-Fifty

Due to oil price high, I decided to ride a jeep during Saturdays & Sundays if I decided to go to gym rather than bringing a car. I was aware that there were news about the increase of 50 cents on the fare but I didn't know it was already approved. When I was riding I paid six pesos to the driver, and he told me that it lacks 50 cents and I gave him one peso and I said to him I didn't know. He told me to read the post in his vehicle about the increase of fare in a sarcastic way. But I didn't mind him for the reason I was in a good mood and its a small thing.

Then after ten minutes, one of the passenger paid seven pesos to the driver and that passenger told the driver that he will ask the change for the reason he will be off on the next two blocks. Then the driver told him I don't have a change, now the passenger was a bit hot-headed and ask him to give back the one peso. The driver insist the minimum fare was six-fifty, the passenger said "we all know that and your oblige to give us change". The driver scratches his head and give back the one peso and starts to murmur after the passenger drop off.

Poor driver but I was happy on what happen for being sarcastic to me. LOL

A boring homily

The priest was just reading his homily and I could hardly understand what he's reading because of his monotonous voice. I ended up observing other people on how they reacted the sermon, some are sleeping, and some were listening (I envy them if they understand). While I was bored, I recalled one time when I was attending mass on our parish church, the priest points out that being a priest was not an easy life and it is a continuous learning especially preparing the sermon after gospel. He also pointed out that some priest rely on their stack knowledge and use the same sermon that they had for each gospel which he said shouldn't be the case.

I hope next time he wouldn't read his homily or else I'll look for another schedule on Sunday mass and make sure his not the one celebrating the mass.
